Is Pinky Promise free?

Solo promises are free and don't need an account. Shared promises need the Shared plan, a monthly or annual subscription through Apple. One plan covers both people in the pair, and eligible new subscribers can start with a free trial. You'll see the current price in the app before you subscribe.

Can my person see what I do on my phone?

No. They see the promises you both confirmed, the names you gave your app groups, and the Pinky Pass requests between you. They never see which exact apps you picked, your usage, your messages or your screen.

What if I really need an app during a promise?

On your own, you can edit or end your solo promise yourself at any time. Together, you ask your person for a Pinky Pass of 5 to 60 minutes and pick a reason. They approve or decline, and the pass only covers that one promise.

Can I stop a shared promise?

Yes. Either of you can unpair at any time without the other's approval, and unpairing removes the shared restrictions. You can also block someone or delete your account from Partner & Account in the app.

Is this a parental-control app?

No. Pinky Promise is for people aged 13 and up who choose to take part. Both people confirm every shared promise, and either can leave. It is not a way to monitor someone, and it is not an emergency or safety service.

What do I need to get started?

An iPhone with iOS 18 or later, and permission for Screen Time when the app asks. For shared promises, you'll both need the app on your own iPhones and Sign in with Apple.
